After taking off and inputting the course to Bernadette, Quinn goes to the kitchen to get herself some breakfast/lunch. She is humming while she cooks and moves about the kitchen.

Quinn can hear a small trickle of water running in the shower room just off the kitchen as she prepares her breakfast. After a few minutes the water shuts off and the door opens. Archer emerges, barefoot and in a bathrobe, with her hair wet. She gives Quinn a nod of acknowledgment, then pauses in the door. Her eyes flick over to the ring Quinn wears. "I know I said this already, but gōngxǐ to the both of ya. I remember those days. They're good ones."

Quinn gives Archer a bright smile. "Thank you." She offers the pan toward Archer. "You want me to add some for you? I ain't as good a cook as Daisy ever was, plus I ain't got the ingredients, but I can do it up simple. And the coffee's on too, I added extra in case anyone else came around to get some."

"Sure. Lemme go get dressed first, I'll be back by the time it's ready." True to her word, Archer pads off down the hall and returns about five minutes later just as the food is finishing up, dressed in her usual attire. She grabs a plate and a mug, loads them up with protein paste and coffee, and sits down at the table. After taking the first few bites she says, sounding genuinely curious, "So tell me about the wedding. You two havin' a big shindig, or you just gonna find a judge once we hit the Core?" By the sound of it she's hoping for that first option.

Quinn sits down across from Archer. "Um... I ain't sure about that. We ain't really talked about it much at all. I don't think that there are too many people we want to have come, at least not that I can think of. I would like it if Daisy were there. Maybe Big Tom. My ma ain't gonna leave Lilac and I don't want to have another weddin' on that planet so she's out of the picture, so havin a big shindig might make things look a little empty. Besides, I ain't got the money to throw a big shindig. Lucky I still have that piece of plastic that Birgitta gave me as I can turn in for a fancy dress. I don't know much about weddin's... Only one I ever had weren't my idea of the greatest time. What did you do for yours?"

"We didn't have a big fancy one neither, seein' as how we had to fit it in quick while I was on furlough. You get pregnant when you're fightin' for the Alliance and they put you behind a desk to keep you safer, but that don't mean they let you stop workin' for long, you know? I told David we oughta just have the commander do it seein' as how it wouldn't cost us nothin' and the whole regiment coulda been there to see it, but he figured he owed it to his family to do it more religious-like. So it wound up bein' his family and friends and the folks from my squad what could get away on a weekend pass in this little temple on Londinum. Got the monks to come out and ring the bells and light the incense and chant and all. I s'pose the ceremony was nice enough, but I woulda rather had a big party in a less pretty place. Then again, it ain't so much the wedding is important as what comes after it, right?"

Quinn smiles and ducks her head a little as she blushes. "Well, I ain't sure as it needs to be religious-like unless Osiris is wantin that. Pretty though, I do want it to be pretty. And I don't want it to be hot. And I sure as hell ain't doin' it pregnant- I done that once and there weren't nothin fun in that. Though if I hadn't been so far gone it might not'a been so bad. I want dancin' and maybe some o' them sparklin lights. Inside or outside is both fine with me." She taps her fork against her plate. "And I want my brother to be happy about it. But that might be just too much to ask. I'm thinkin' he probably ain't gonna wanna give me away like I was hopin. I sure as don't want my run-away pa doin nothin like that; he ain't invited. So maybe I will have to walk by my lonesome."

"Ah, it weren't so bad at five months. You're past feelin' sick all the time but it's before you got so huge you can hardly move. Not that I'm thinkin' you're in such a state right now anyhow." Archer smiles teasingly and takes a drink of her coffee. Then her expression becomes more serious. "Give your brother some time and I know he'll come around. He ain't happy now 'cause the doc ain't the sort of man he expected would come into your life, but anyone with eyes in their head can see that the two of you are good for each other. He'll figure that out someday no matter how he's actin' now. And I'd be willin' to bet you a good large sum that even with the captain bein' all addlepated over you gettin' married right now, he's got sense enough to walk you down that aisle if you ask him to stand beside you."

"As far as I know, ain't no way I could be in that state right now." Quinn says with a laugh. "I heard stories, but the ones they told about Jaya weren't true and she's much more innocent than me so I don't think that kind of thing is possible for me neither."

She nods. "I was about 8 months gone my first time and it was the middle of the growin season on Lilac- hotter'n hell out there. Lucky we had the weddin' near on night time so that it was gettin' cooler, but I was still having a heck of a time standin still when all I wanted to do was dump water over my head. I think I can do without the heat and without the dust this time around.

"I'll remeber that about Nicholas. I'm thinkin that if Daisy shows up maybe he'll be in a better mood about it all. Or at least to distracted trippin over his own feet and thoughts that he don't have spare time to be annoyed at me."
